Fund Raising Events and Donations

As soon as the foundation was mooted donations started flowing in and there were several sponsored half marathons which raised hundreds of pounds.

Instead of flowers, mourners at Caspar's funeral were asked to donate to Sobell House and many did so but a good number of people preferred to wait until the foundation was established so that their contributions could go to a cause close to Caspar's heart.  Currently this has been our main source of finance.

In the immediate future we have Caspar's CD 'Souls and Shadows' to sell which which should make a significant contribution to our resources. See the page 'Caspar's Music' for further details, to listen the title track and if you wish buy the CD online.

For the 2007 Bicester Village Jazz Festival we had 2000 Lilac PVC wristbands produced with 'Souls and Shadows' debossed on each one. We still have some remaining and a photograph of one is shown below: -

They can be bought for £2.00 each including post and packing by using the PayPal 'Buy Now' button below: -

So far 2008 has been quiet apart from CD and wristband sales and various donations.  However, Margaret Eadle celebrated her 60th birthday in May and guests' donations in lieu of presents were shared equally with Cancer Research UK.  In addition the Eadle family again this year generously donated half the money raised at their Annual Fencott Bridge Summer Fun Day/Salsa Festival to us.  In total the amount donated was £225.00 .

The  Polo, Pimms and Picnic event at Kirtlington Polo Park organised by Christine Prior was a great success despite the drizzle.  Receipts are still coming in from the Event Programme advertisers but  preliminary receipts make it our best fundraising event so far.  Gross Receipts so far amount to £4925 with a few programme advertisers still to pay their donations -hopefully we should top £5000.  Printing costs were £160.00 so at present the net addition to foundation funds is ££4765.00.  Many thanks to Christine for suggesting the event and doing much of the organising.

During 2007 Norman Cook aka 'Fatboy Slim' geneously donated some of his old computer recording equipment to the Foundation.  Apart from the speakers which have been donated to Ellenor Hospice at Home there were no offers for the remaining equipment and it has now been sold on Ebay raising £700.00

Claire Drewett's 30th Bithday Celebration on 18th October raised just over £154.00 - so many thanks to Claire and her generous guests.

Depending on his availability a 'Bob Heath and Friends' concert is planned for early in 2009. More details will be added to this page once they are finalised.

Early in 2009 Lois Barlow-Olsen, Caspar's widow, her friend Katya Garcia and her cousin Claire Drewett are going to do a sponsored Parachute Jump. This is now scheduled for early 2009 and a sponsorship page on 'justgiving will be set up for your donations shortly.  Please sponsor them generously. We hope it goes well because the last time Ashley and Samatha Barlow (two of the trustees) did a parchute jump; Ashley managed to land on a car whilst fortunately sustaining only minor injuries himself!

Obviously, if you can enjoy yourself on any of these occasions whilst supporting 'Souls and Shadows' so much the better but if you cannot get there and still wish to support us we have tried to make it as simple as possible - just click the 'Make a Donation' button below and PayPal will arrange it for you securely.
